The first recording by this artist from Badajoz seems to summon the need for the kind of silence that gives things their shape. Shhhhhhhh is a sound meditation that describes vast spaces and subtle movements, a reencounter with listening, balanced by the voices of things that go unnoticed but even so – or perhaps for that very reason – constitute the very lifeblood of our experience. This is electronica for a soft, scintillating palate, like a sip of sparkling water, which promises (in a whisper) to develop into a career that will be worth following closely.

Circuit-bending is a term used to designate creative and innovative modifications (based on short-circuiting) on low-voltage electronic devices (children's toys, guitar pedals, etc.) with the aim of creating new musical instruments and sound generators.
The circuit-bending technique is normally developed on recycled devices or devices found on the streets or in second hand shops. After their transformation, such objects, rejected by society, acquire a new life form completely different from the one planned by the original manufacturer. These devices, originally not associated with music production, eventually become musical instruments in certain aesthetics of experimental contemporary music.
Knowledge on electronics is not require in order to attend this workshop. The necessary knowledge on electronics to practice circuit-bending will be taught.

* History and philosophy of the circuit-bending
* Circuit-bending without risks
* Necessary tools. Soldering and drilling techniques
* Basic electronic concepts
* Components (resistors, condensers, diodes, integrated circuits...)
* Controllers and sensors
* Identifying simple circuits
* Interpreting electronic diagrams
* Strategies to obtain interesting sounds
* Examples of most common modifications
Juan Matos Capote is a sound and visual artist from the Canary Islands living in Barcelona. He teachs Circuit Bending workshops to groups as well as to individuals. He has studied with the pioneer (and father of Circuit Bending) Reed Ghazala in Ohio, Cincinnati, USA.
